You might want to record your phone screen because you want to show a friend or colleague something. Or you might want to record your phone screen to because you have a YouTube channel and you showcase Android apps or games. Whatever the reason, in this article we will show you how you can record your android phone screen for free without rooting your phone.
Recording your phone screen can be hard to do. Sometimes you can’t find the correct screen recording app that will work with your phone or you have to root your phone, when you don’t want to root your phone.
It is so easy to do that we can break it into 3 simple steps. The best thing about this app is that it is completely free to download and you do not have to root your phone.
Please Note: This is only for Android devices and you cannot use it for Apple or Windows devices.
Step 1
On your Android phone or tablet (or whatever Android device you have) launch the Google Play Store and search for AZ Screen Recorder. It will be the top search result saying AZ Screen Recorder – No Root. Install the app and accept all permissions, after that launch the app.
Step 2
The app is very easy to use and has a great user interface. You have a choice of four buttons. The first one being the record button, second one settings and third one is the Output directory. Just press the record button on the menu and it will present you with a coutndown.
Step 3
A pop up will appear saying that the app will start capturing everything on screen. Just press ‘Start Now’. Make sure you don’t tick ‘Don’t show again’ as it gets messed up. Once you’ve done that a countdown from 3 will begin and then it’s recording. Just go like normal and record what you wanted to from your phone. You can choose to pause or stop the video by swiping down the drop down menu and pressing whichever option you want. You can also annotate and draw on your recordings, but this is on the premium version.
That’s all there is really. You don’t have to overcomplicate things. If you want to access the screen recordings just open the Output directory. If you have a file manager you can find it Az Screen Recorder folder. You can choose to share your recordings or even post them to YouTube. There is an option to trim the videos and edit them from the app, but you have to get the premium version.
You can change the settings of the screen orientation to landscape or portrait. There is also a bunch of other stuff that you can tinker with like resolution, frame rate, whether you want to record the audio and quite alot of other stuff. Fun Fact: We use this app and other apps to put together trailers for our games at IRF Media.
