10 Celebrities Who Are Hardcore Gamers
Video games are awesome and they are enjoyed by billions of people all over the world. This number is only set to increase as the technology keeps getting better and better technology is released like Virtual Reality, e-Sports, Mobile games, etc. Part of the billions of people who play video games include countless celebrity gamers as well.
Celebrities are normal people as well and sometimes we forget that they too do stuff like watch TV or go shopping. In their spare time they do whatever they want to do, some celebrities even play video games in their spare time.
Many celebrities are also involved directly with video games. Hollywood Director Steven Spielberg released Medal of Honor under the DreamWorks Interactive label. Fast and the Furious star Vin Diesel has his own game studio – Tigon Studios. They develop games like The Chronicles of Riddick and other games that Vin Diesel stars in.
Loads of celebrities have also been the stars of their own games. Kim Kardashian (as much as we don’t want too mention her) has a very successful mobile game made by Glu Mobile. Other celebrities with their own games include Shakira, Mike Tyson, Katie Perry, Mark Wahlberg, 50 Cent, Ricky Gervais, Michael Jackson Shaq O’ Neal and many more.
Video games are getting more and more popular and are getting mainstream – with tons of people playing games everyday. In this article we will share 10 celebrity gamers who are hardcore gamers and love video games.
Snoop Dogg
Favourite Games: Call of Duty series, Battlefield series
Snoop Dogg is a well known for being a rapper and actor. He’s also well known for smoking a lot of weed. And I mean A LOT of weed. But other than that he also loves playing video games. He has starred as himself in True Crime: Streets of LA and he has done provided the voice over for Call of Duty: Ghosts. He also has his own mobile game called Way of the Dogg which is available to download on the App Store and Google Play.
Mila Kunis
Favourite Games: World of Warcraft, Farmville
Mila Kunis proves that gaming isn’t just a guys hobby. Kunis started her career with TV commericals before getting a significant role in the sitcom That 70’s Show. She has starred in quite a few movies too including Black Swan and Friends with Benefits. In the former she achieved worldwide recognition and awards including the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress. She has voiced Meg Griffin on the popular animated show Family Guy since 1999 as well.
Kunis has claimed she was so addicted to play World of Warcraft that she would spend hours on end just playing World of Warcraft. It got to a point where she had to force herself to stop playing.
Taylor Lautner
Favourite Game: Rockband
Taylor Lautner is an actor and martial artist that got mainstream fame for starring in the Twilight movie series. Lautner has also been training in martial arts since he was young. For the second movie in the series he gained 30 pounds of muscle which brought him quite a bit of media attention.
In his free time he loves playing Rockband and is supposedly a good guitarist on the game. Taylor is just like most people his own age and enjoys playing video games just like millions of other people his own age.

Favourite Games: Halo series
The star from Disney’s super hit high school musical movie called High School Musical. Apparently him and his then co-star Vanesa Hudgens broke up because he would clock up too many hours on the Xbox and not give her time. The ultimatum – her or the Xbox. He chose the Xbox, good on him!
Justin Bieber
Favourite Games: Halo series, Call of Duty series and Mario Kart
The singer who found international fame through video sharing site YouTube and has produced many hit songs. You can love him or hate him but Justin Bieber has received many awards and has an enormous fan base (even if most of his fans consist of prepubescent girls).
But like Taylor Lautner, Justin Bieber enjoys playing video games as well. He plays a lot of Call of Duty and Halo while he also likes playing more casual and relaxed games like Super Mario and Mario Kart. Who knows, you might have whopped him on Call of Duty online without you knowing it was him.
Kobe Bryant
Favourite Games: Call of Duty series, NBA (series)
The six-foot-four inch former basketball player takes his stress out on Call of Duty when not on the basketball courts. Bryant was a highly successful and illustrious player for Los Angeles Lakers and throughout his 20 year career he only played for the LA Lakers.
Kobe has appeared in many different video games and has appeared on various video game covers over the years. He likes Call of Duty so much that he starred in the commercial for the game.
Eminem
Favourite Games: Call of Duty, Fallout, Battlefield
The star of movie ‘8 Mile’ and rapper behind hit tracks like ‘Lose Yourself’ and ‘The Real Slim Shady’ loves ‘losing himself’ into Call of Duty. He likes the game so much that the makers of Call of Duty and Eminem have come to an agreement to use his tracks for the Call of Duty series.
Matthew Perry
Favourite Games: Fallout 3: New Vegas
The star who got famous for playing sitcom Chandler Bing in the sitcom Friends. His character Chandler Bing was well known for his one liners and sarcastic remarks.
He has also starred in many movies as well as voicing Benny in Fallout 3: New Vegas. In fact he played Fallout 3 on his Xbox 360 so much that he developed Repetitive Strain Injury.
Megan Fox
Favourite Games: Halo and Mortal Kombat
The actress famous for being a sex symbol and most prominently known for her lead role in Transformers. In interviews Megan passionately talks about her love for video games and in particular Halo. She enjoys playing Halo online in particular although she admits she is not very good at the game. Can’t really expect much from her though, can you?
Ronda Rousey
Favourite Games: Pokémon series, The Legend of Zelda
Ronda Rousey does have an awesome record for the UFC. Out of 13 fights she has only lost one fight. The former UFC Bantamweight women’s champion and occasional actress is a big fan of anything Pokémon. She loves playing Pokémon games including Pokémon Stadium, Pokémon Snap and other Pokémon games. She classes herself as a huge hardcore gamer.
Ronda has also starred in films like The Expendables 3, Fast and the Furious 7 and Entourage. She is also set to star in the remake of 1989 movie Road House.
There are obviously a lot more celebrity gamers that play video games and if we included all of the celebrity gamers then we would be here all day (for about a month).
As you can see a lot of the celebrities enjoy playing first person shooting games such as Call of Duty or Battlefield. That just shows must of the celebrity gamers featured in this article are hardcore gamers. I suppose that just shows how far video games have come and how they plan to go even further.
